We’d Love To Have You Join Us
At The Gate, we follow a unique rhythm built around what we call Seasons. Each season runs four months and begins with a month of rest, where we intentionally pull back from activities and lean more deeply into God and community. That rest month is followed by three months of our normal ministry schedule, marked by gatherings, discipleship, and shared life together.
Because some gatherings and ministries shift depending on the season, we encourage you to always refer to our current schedule so you know what is happening and when.
-
First service at The Gate is not your typical early morning sleepy service. You will experience the same powerful worship and teaching, just a few minutes shorter. This service time remains the same throughout the year and is not impacted by our seasonal schedule.
If you want to make the most of your time with us, join us for pre-service prayer from 8:15 to 8:45am in the fellowship hall. Simply enter through the main doors and head all the way down the hallway to your right.
-
Second service at The Gate starts a little later, runs a little longer, and sounds a little louder. It is the same powerful worship and teaching, with extra room to lean in and linger. This service time remains consistent throughout the year and is not impacted by our seasonal schedule.
Pre-service prayer for second service is from 10:30am to 11:00am in the fellowship hall. Enter through the main doors and head all the way down the hallway to your right.

You have not truly experienced The Gate until you have attended a prayer gathering. These gatherings are marked by passionate praise, intimate worship, and bold faith to see God move. Each month, individuals and families drive in from hours away simply to encounter the life-changing presence of God.
A typical prayer gathering lasts about 90 minutes. When you arrive, enter through the main doors and head down the hallway to your right into the fellowship hall. Seating can be limited at times, so we recommend arriving 10 to 15 minutes early.
*Please note that our Thursday prayer gatherings pause during our rest months of January, May, and September.

Join us on second Fridays for a life-changing night of healing worship and prophetic ministry. At The Gate, we have witnessed remarkable healings take place during worship, often without anyone laying hands or praying directly over individuals. These Friday nights are intentionally designed to create space for intimate worship in the Sanctuary, where you can simply rest in the presence of God. That may look like standing, sitting, or even laying down.
At the same time, our prophetic teams are ministering to individuals in the fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome to attend these nights. If you would like to participate in prophetic ministry, please click here to join our email list. You will receive a notification when registration opens.
*Please note that Second Friday gatherings pause during our rest months of January, May, and September.

Fourth Friday gatherings at The Gate are completely led by the Holy Spirit. We come with no agenda beyond obedience, making room for the fire of God to move however He desires. We may preach, or we may not. These nights are marked by the tangible presence of God, where people are healed, set free, and made whole.
Pre-service prayer takes place from 6:15pm to 6:45pm, creating space to prepare our hearts and contend together before the gathering begins.
*Please note that Fourth Friday gatherings pause during our rest months of January, May, and September.

Where Do I Start?
We know coming to a new church can be a lot to take in and may even feel overwhelming at times. We get it. That is why we have created a simple pathway for those who want to move toward making The Gate their home church.

Our Leaders
John and Tiffany Matthews are the Senior Leaders of The Gate Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, and trusted voices to pastors and ministry leaders across the nation. For nearly a decade, they have stewarded a move of God marked by healing, restoration, and revival—an outpouring that began in 2022 and continues to impact the Charlotte region today.
As itinerant ministers and apostolic voices, John and Tiffany carry a deep passion for building healthy leaders and healthy churches. Over the years they have coached, counseled, and mentored pastors, helping them navigate culture-shaping vision, emotionally healthy leadership, ministry burnout, team dynamics, and the complexities of modern church life.
Their message is marked by power, love, and a sound mind—and their mission is simple: to strengthen leaders so they can build environments where the presence of God transforms people, cities, and generations.
“We don't tame curls; we unleash them.”
